The (4-0) Kansas City Chiefs are coming out of the early bye week with a home game against a division rival: the (0-5) Los Angeles Chargers. Sunday afternoon’s contest will kick off at 3:25 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium and will be broadcast on CBS (KCTV-5/Kansas City).
Head coach Andy Reid is 22-5 in games following a regular-season bye week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It’s the second-best record among active NFL coaches; New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh has a 15-3 career record.
Harbaugh’s brother, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, will be looking for his team to turn the season around despite a lengthy injury report that included right tackle Joe Alt, safety Derwin James, and the team’s leading receiver, Tre Harris, ruled out from playing.
Los Angeles’ season will rest on quarterback Justin Herbert, and Kansas City’s defense needs to rise to the challenge of keeping the lowly Chargers’ offense down.
