ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday pledged to provide all possible resources and facilities to Daanish schools, reaffirming the government’s commitment to expanding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, as technology company Gauth offered free subscriptions for teachers and students.
Speaking at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Ministry of Education and Gauth AI, the prime minister said the government was committed to providing quality education and creating new opportunities for students and teachers through modern technology.
He welcomed the company’s offer of 4,000 free subscriptions for teachers, including 1,000 for educators associated with the government’s Daanish schools initiative.
Sharif described Daanish schools as institutions providing free education and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting them with the necessary resources.

“There is no dearth of resources, and the government will provide all possible resources to the Daanish schools,” he said.
Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima said the initiative reflected the prime minister’s vision of promoting technology-led development and improving education through digital solutions.
She said Pakistan would become the second country after the United States to receive paid versions of Gauth AI, adding that TikTok had also made its AI technology available in the country.
Maria Kohan, regional director of global public policy at ByteDance Ltd, said technology could foster creativity, widen opportunities and improve access to education.
She highlighted the company’s efforts to promote educational content through TikTok, including a dedicated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) feed launched in Pakistan in partnership with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
Kohan said the launch of Gauth in Pakistan marked a further step in the company’s efforts to support learning through technology.
Gauth is an AI-powered study platform that provides step-by-step explanations, personalised tutoring and interactive tools designed to help students understand academic concepts.
According to Kohan, the platform has more than 200 million users worldwide.
Under the agreement, Gauth will provide 4,000 free subscriptions for teachers across Pakistan, including 1,000 for educators associated with Daanish schools. The tools are intended to support teaching and improve students’ learning experiences.
The company will also provide 180 free subscriptions for local students, Kohan said.
The agreement comes as the government seeks to incorporate digital tools into education and widen access to learning resources.
Details about the duration of the free subscriptions, the selection criteria for beneficiaries and arrangements for continued access after the free period were not provided at the ceremony.
