Just as one can never go wrong with a little black dress, a glossy black manicure is a classic. Case in point: Hailey Bieber at the 2026 Academy Museum Gala, where she artfully contrasted a bubblegum-pink Chanel column gown by Matthieu Blazy with jet-black nails.
The Rhode founder tapped go-to celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, an OPI global ambassador, for the bold look. The process was fairly simple: Ganzorigt gave Bieber’s nails an almond shape to elongate her fingers before using the OPI Intelli-Gel in Black Onyx for that moody, glossy black shade—somewhat mirroring the deep, dark chocolate hair that Bieber debuted in September.

Tonight marks the Academy Museum’s sixth annual gala in Los Angeles, where Bieber joins other A-listers—including honorees Colman Domingo and Charlize Theron and special performer Taylor Swift—to celebrate cinema.
And as far as beauty looks go, Bieber’s latest mani, like her taupe nails earlier in the season, is sure to be added to everyone’s fall and winter mood boards. “[Bieber is] always down to try new things, and she’s so creative when it comes to nails,” says Ganzorigt. “We love creating our custom colors together by layering multiple shades, and it’s always a fun time with her.”
