The Baltimore Ravens are without Lamar Jackson tonight.
But there is a bright spot. His ankle injury may not linger. A return next week looks realistic, and that changes the outlook for Baltimore’s season.

...
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke the news. He tweeted that Jackson “has a real chance to return next week, pending rehab.”
Rapoport added more detail on the video. Past Jackson injuries have dragged on longer than expected. This one does not sound like that.
“It sounds like he has been in the building early working crazy to get himself back on the field,” Rapoport said. Several people close to the situation believe Jackson will be back next week. “That is his goal. We’ll see how rehab goes, but that is the hope.”
That is a big shift. Earlier this week, Rapoport reported Jackson had only an outside chance to play and could miss multiple games.
Jackson has been ruled out against the Falcons after missing practice all week. Tyler Huntley will make the start.
Jackson got hurt in the first half of Baltimore’s 24-18 win over the Titans. Huntley then went 8-of-9 for 63 yards in relief. Coach Jesse Minter said the team has “a ton of confidence” in him.
Atlanta will test him. The Falcons just beat the Saints 45-24. They also pressure quarterbacks at the second-highest rate in the NFL.
There is some good news on Flowers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports he is expected to play, despite the questionable tag.
Baltimore needs him. Huntley needs a safety valve, and Flowers is the best one on this roster.
