John Wall may no longer be running the offense for the Washington Wizards, but the former franchise star is continuing to make his presence felt in the nation's capital.
The five-time NBA All-Star is reportedly taking on an expanded role with Monumental Sports Network, giving Wizards fans more opportunities to hear from one of the most recognizable players in franchise history.
According to Joshua Robbins, Wall is expected to work 20 Wizards broadcasts during the 2026-27 NBA season, serving as both a game and in-studio analyst.
The reported assignment represents another step in Wall's broadcasting career after he joined Monumental Sports Network as a studio analyst for approximately 15 games last season.
For Wizards fans, the expanded role means one of the franchise's most beloved former players will remain a familiar presence on game nights, offering insight from his years leading Washington on the court.
Wall first joined Monumental Sports Network's broadcast team in October 2025, contributing to the network's pregame and postgame coverage.
His addition helped bring a familiar voice and firsthand NBA experience to the broadcasts while strengthening the connection between the organization and its longtime fan base.
Now, his reported move into game analysis would allow him to provide a different perspective, breaking down the action as it unfolds rather than focusing exclusively on pregame and postgame discussions.
Few former players have a stronger connection to the DMV than Wall.

The Wizards selected the Kentucky standout with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, making him the centerpiece of the franchise's rebuilding efforts. Wall quickly developed into one of the NBA's most exciting point guards, becoming known for his exceptional speed, passing ability and leadership.
During his time in Washington, he earned five consecutive All-Star selections from 2014 through 2018 and helped lead the Wizards to multiple playoff appearances.
One of the highlights of his career came during the 2016-17 season, when he averaged 23.1 points and 10.7 assists while helping Washington reach the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Alongside Bradley Beal, Wall helped form one of the NBA's most dynamic backcourts, establishing Washington as a consistent playoff contender during their time together.
Although injuries eventually slowed his career, Wall's impact on the franchise remains undeniable, and he is still regarded as one of the most accomplished players in Wizards history. Wall officially retired from professional basketball in August 2025, closing the book on a career that also included time with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.
Rather than stepping away from basketball entirely, Wall transitioned into broadcasting, including work with Prime Video's NBA coverage. His continued involvement with Monumental gives him an opportunity to remain connected to the organization that helped establish his NBA career.

When he initially joined the network, Wall expressed how much Washington meant to him.
"Washington, D.C. will always be my second home," Wall said back in October 2025.
That relationship has remained evident even after his playing days ended.
The Wizards having Wall involved in broadcasts also creates a connection between the franchise's past and its next generation of players. His experience as a former No. 1 pick and longtime franchise leader could provide valuable perspective on the challenges young players face as they develop in the NBA.
While Monumental has not yet publicly confirmed the full details of his reported 20-game assignment, the development suggests Wall's broadcasting career is continuing to grow.
And for Wizards fans who spent years watching him lead the team on the court, hearing him analyze the action offers another way to stay connected to one of the franchise's most memorable stars.
