The Minnesota Vikings are 5-0 to begin the 2026 NFL season, finding most of their success from the defensive side of the ball.
Most of the team's offensive production has come from running back Aaron Jones Sr., wide receiver Justin Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson. Beyond that, production has been limited.
Before the 2026 season, Jauan Jennings signed a one-year contract with the Vikings to become the team's third wide receiver option behind Jefferson and Jordan Addison. But through the first five games of his tenure in Minnesota, the veteran pass catcher has just two receptions for nine yards on five targets.
On Tuesday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said the trade market is expected to "heat up" for Jennings in the coming weeks. The league reporter specifically discussed a reunion with the San Francisco 49ers, who are dealing with serious injury issues at the wide receiver position.
"I expect his name to heat up a little bit over the next couple days and weeks. Obviously, the 49ers lost Deebo [Samuel] for a couple weeks, so they make sense. That would be a name for me to keep an eye on," Rapoport said.
Jennings was visibly furious after Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray missed him wide open in the end zone during Sunday's Week 5 win over the New Orleans Saints. Minnesota also signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the practice squad last week, and brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster for a workout on Monday.

The Vikings take their 5-0 record into this week's bye, giving them extra time to prepare for Week 7's clash against the Indianapolis Colts.
