The Atlanta Dream just proved they own the city. Tickets for Wednesday night’s WNBA Finals Game 3 at State Farm Arena are completely gone, according to WSB-TV. This isn’t just a win for the box office; it is a massive shift in the local sports culture. Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein received confirmation from the team regarding the sellout, which represents a distinct triumph for the franchise. Fans are paying top dollar to see Angel Reese and her teammates take on the Golden State Valkyries at 8 p.m. The only tickets left are on the secondary market, where prices have skyrocketed.
Resale prices show just how much demand has exploded. Ticketmaster lists seats from $91 to over $330, while SeatGeek has some going for as much as $1,300, per WSB-TV. Stubhub ranges from $89 to $271, and TickPick shows listings up to $1,400. These numbers tell a simple story: Atlanta is ready to embrace this team. Collaboration between the Dream, the Atlanta Hawks, and the NBA facilitated shifting the contests from the Gateway Center to the primary arena. This deal ensures the Dream will call State Farm Arena home for all their games starting in 2027.
Reese’s Hunger Drives the Hype
The energy in Atlanta stems directly from the team’s recent performance. Monday night saw the Dream secure their inaugural WNBA Finals victory in the history of the franchise. Angel Reese led the charge with a dominant stat line of 30 points and 16 rebounds in Game 2, according to Yahoo Sports. Her mindset after that win was clear and intense. “I was hungry. I wanted one and we let one slip away and you can’t do that, especially on the road,” Reese said. That drive is exactly what fans are paying to see live.
Reese also noted the team’s emotional shift after a tough loss. She explained, “This is a good environment and a good team. We all came together and we were pissed. We felt disappointed. We felt embarrassed, and we didn’t like the outcome of that last game.” This raw honesty connects with the crowd. The series is currently tied 1-1, setting up a critical battle for home-court advantage. The Dream need to win here to keep the momentum rolling.
A New Era For Atlanta Basketball
This sellout changes the landscape for women’s sports in Georgia. State Farm Arena will host Game 3 and Game 4 by the Dream, following an agreement reached between the Dream, WNBA, Atlanta Hawks, and NBA. Saturday at 1 p.m. marks the tip-off for Game 4, while the Hawks adjusted their home opener to 8:30 p.m. to accommodate the schedule. This coordination shows the league is serious about growing the sport in this market. The move from the smaller venue to the big stage signals a permanent upgrade for the franchise.
Atlanta fans have shown they will fill the seats if the product is right. The Dream have capitalized on this by bringing the finals back to the heart of the city. With Reese playing at an elite level and the crowd fully engaged, the pressure is now on the Golden State Valkyries.
