In their home opener for the 2026-27 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers made a statement. They fell behind early, but the Cleveland Cavaliers' lead ballooned to 29 in the first half. However, the 76ers erased that deficit and pulled off the amazing comeback victory.
Tyrese Maxey was the standout player because of his 32 points, but Jaylen Brown played a solid game with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. This team is already doing well to start the year with two wins in two games, and it starts with the stars.
Tyrese Maxey loves what he is seeing from Jaylen Brown to start the season
As one of the 76ers' big offseason additions, the hype is extremely high for Brown. He is coming off a fantastic 2025-26 campaign for the Boston Celtics that earned him an All-NBA Second Team nod. Now, he is in a new role with the 76ers, and he is already receiving plaudits from his new teammates.
Maxey was the star of the show, as he utilized his pace to truly dominate the Cavaliers in the second half. However, Brown stepped up in that second half, as he became the go-to guy when the offense became stagnant. Considering they pulled off the comeback, Brown deserves a lot of praise for that.

The 76ers needed everyone in the game against the Cavaliers because they would have gotten blown out if it wasn't for everyone's contributions. Of course, Maxey is the standout player, but he made sure to praise Brown because they could not have won the game without him.
"It brings just a different dynamic for our team, offensively and defensively. We can throw him in there at any given moment; he can guard bigs, he can guard guards like tonight," Maxey said about Brown's dynamic impact for the 76ers so far.
The 76ers' chemistry is already quite healthy, which is great for the rest of the season. If they can mesh even more, they will be a threat when it comes to championship contender status alongside the defending champions, the New York Knicks, a team that the 76ers already beat.
