Kate Middleton is already getting some good use out of her Gianvito Rossi ankle boots. The Princess of Wales brought back the black leather style on Thursday for a visit to The Treehouse children’s hospice in Ipswich, England, less than a month after wearing the same pair to a rugby engagement in Leeds.
Middleton opted for the Italian designer’s Lyell booties, which feature a sharply pointed toe and a chunky block heel measuring 85 mm, or just over three inches. The boots are made from smooth black leather with a fitted ankle shaft, an inside zipper and the Italian label’s signature gold-tone emblem near the top.
While Middleton’s wide-leg trousers covered most of the boots, the elongated toes peeked out as she walked. The block heels were also visible, offering a little more stability than the stilettos she often favors for formal engagements that do not require as much legwork as her Thursday afternoon visit.
The royal was spotted in the boots not even a month earlier on Sept. 29 during a visit to Headingley Rugby Stadium in Leeds with Prince William. For that outing, she paired them with black Roland Mouret wide-leg trousers, a black top and a dark green Ralph Lauren blazer.
Middleton is no stranger to Gianvito Rossi, particularly when it comes to boots. She has worn bespoke knee-high suede styles from the brand for years, including a brown pair she brought back while spending time with Melania Trump in Windsor last September. The princess also has an extensive collection of the designer’s pointed-toe pumps, which she regularly wears for royal engagements.
She doesn’t limit her boot collection to the Italian brand, though. For this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in March, Middleton opted for a pair of black suede Ralph Lauren knee-high boots with ultra-pointed toes and slim stiletto heels.
For her visit to Ipswich, Middleton wore a Victoria Beckham suit featuring an olive-green tailored blazer and matching Alina trousers. The jacket had structured shoulders, notched lapels and a long, single-breasted silhouette, while the trousers featured a high waist and wide legs.
Thursday’s visit was a return to familiar territory for Middleton, who has served as patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices since 2012. She officially opened The Treehouse that March, delivering her first public royal speech at the facility.
This time, she met with children, families and staff and toured construction work on an expansion of the hospice, trading her tailored jacket for a high-visibility vest and hard hat along the way.
