Ukrainian Naval Drone Found Off Lefkada; No Link to Rybolovlev Confirmed
Athens, May 8, 2026 — Greek authorities are investigating a Ukrainian-origin naval drone discovered by fishermen in a cave on Lefkada. The vessel carried explosives. The leading theory is that it was intended to target Russian “shadow fleet” tankers in the Mediterranean. There is no evidence it targeted Dmitry Rybolovlev’s yacht Anna or that it prompted a halt to works on Skorpios island.
Greek Security Adviser Duped by Russian Pranksters
Thanos Dokos, national security adviser to the Greek prime minister, was tricked in a video call by the Russian duo Vovan & Lexus, who posed as Ukrainian officials. He discussed the Lefkada drone, upcoming elections, and noted that Russian millionaires prefer Turkey to Greece. He did not urge any killings; he voiced concerns about tourism and political fallout. Opposition parties have demanded his resignation.
Monaco Bomb Attack Injures Ukrainian Oligarch and Family
On June 29, 2026, a bomb exploded outside a Monaco residence, seriously injuring Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Yermolayev, his partner, and their 13-year-old son. The woman who planted the device, Anastasia Berezovska, was murdered days later in Ukraine. Suspects have links to Ukrainian intelligence services (SBU/GUR); the case remains under investigation.
