Claudia Winkleman has a knack for making even the most classic pieces feel full of character, and in tonight's episode of the Traitors, she proves my point. A sharply tailored tweed suit is one of those outfit formulas that can take the guesswork out of getting dressed in the morning - a one-and-done look, if you will. Wear it together for instant polish, or mix and match the pieces with other wardrobe staples.
Of course, Claudia’s original suit is rather expensive. It was designed by Barrington Ayre, the same brand behind the suit James Blunt wore in the promotional pictures of the show. Claudia wears a bespoke brown tweed design, paired with a crisp shirt and brown tassel loafers - as well as a rusted orange silk tie and matching orange cotton socks. The latter is probably in an effort to ward off the Highland chill while the she watches the contestants take part in challenges.

But if you’re reading this, I’d imagine you’re probably looking for something that recreates the look at a far more affordable price point. Luckily, elevated high street brand Mango has the answer: its Tailored Wool Blazer comes in a matching rich brown, with a textured tweed finish, neat lapels and flap pockets.

Crafted from a wool-blend fabric and fully lined, the jacket is a good option as the autumn chill sets in. It also has button fastenings and classic V-neck lapels for a timeless finish, making it easy to wear both for smarter occasions and day to day.
For the full suit effect, style it with the matching Mango trousers and a simple fine-knit jumper or crisp shirt underneath. The set would work just as well for the office as it would for dinner, when you want to look put together without having to think too hard about your outfit. I’d also suggest wearing the blazer separately with dark denim and a plain white T-shirt, or throwing it over a floral dress to add a little structure.
