Almeria city centre will become a giant Halloween playground on October 31 when Noche en Negro, or Black Night, returns with an afternoon and evening packed with entertainment. Circus performers, parades, live music, children’s activities and Halloween attractions will spread across several central locations, while the event will also encourage visitors to explore the city’s shopping areas.
Paseo de Almeria becomes Halloween hub
Almeria will turn its city centre into a giant Halloween playground on October 31 when Noche en Negro returns with entertainment stretching from the afternoon into the night.
The Paseo de Almeria will become one of the main hubs, with a 360-degree video platform allowing groups of up to four people to record 20-second clips and download them to their phones.
A Halloween photo booth, jazz concert and three areas of family games are also planned.
Two horror-themed parades featuring acrobatics, stilt walkers and circus performers will move through the area, accompanied by a musical street band.
Circus spectacular comes to Puerta de Purchena
Puerta de Purchena will host a 90-minute circus spectacular featuring 12 performers, high-level acrobatics and aquatic acts performed inside a water tank.
The show will be accompanied by a classical instrumental quintet, combining circus performance and live music as part of the Halloween programme.
The unusual aquatic acts will add another attraction to a programme designed to spread entertainment across different parts of Almeria’s historic centre.
Children’s activities fill Plaza Pablo Cazard
Plaza Pablo Cazard will offer aerial silk performances, a pop concert and children’s activities including face painting, karaoke, temporary tattoos and a themed photo area.
Elsewhere in the historic centre, plans include a shadow show projected onto a building, five children’s workshops and the distribution of 500 hollow pumpkins for youngsters taking part in traditional Halloween sweet collecting.
The combination of performances and activities will give families several different areas to explore during the celebrations.
Halloween celebrations support city centre shopping
Noche en Negro is also designed to bring additional visitors into Almeria’s central shopping areas during the Halloween celebrations.
With entertainment spread across the Paseo de Almeria, Puerta de Purchena, Plaza Pablo Cazard and other parts of the historic centre, visitors will be able to move between different activities throughout October 31.
