Terry Bradshaw has secured his future on FOX Sports for two more years, but the NFLanalyst has admitted that the possibility of losing his job has made him nervous for the first time in his broadcasting career.
The 78-year-old, who won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, signed a multi-year contract extension that will keep him on the network through its next Super Bowl broadcast.
The former quarterback also acknowledged the challenges of remaining relevant in a business increasingly shaped by younger personalities but made it clear that he has no intention of stepping away voluntarily.
“I love my job,” Bradshaw told the Los Angeles Times. “This year was the first year that I got nervous. I wanted to extend my contract. So, I signed through the Super Bowl. Two more years. I’ll be 80.
“Everybody in any business has to go. The young guys are coming. But I want to be relevant. I want to be good. I want to continue on. I want America to [tune in] and watch me. I want them to [like] me.”
Bradshaw's commitment comes despite criticism of his on-air performances in recent seasons as he has faced scrutiny over mispronounced player names, confusion surrounding team changes and getting sidetracked.
During FOX's coverage in the 2026 NFL season, Bradshaw also called for the New England Patriots to drop Drake Maye over brief poor form, despite him having had led his team to the Super Bowl just months earlier.
Nevertheless, Bradshaw remains determined to continue working for as long as the network wants him. His current extension takes him through the 2028-29 season, when FOX is scheduled to broadcast the Super Bowl.
And the Hall of Famer had described previously described how the prospect of being unable to work on Sundays as his biggest fear, underlining just how central broadcasting has become to his life.
“I think my biggest fear, if I have a fear, is not being able to work at FOX NFL Sunday. It is my life,” Bradshaw said. “It's all I've ever done. It's what I listen, you get up and go to work; are you happiest? You can't wait to get to work. Are you that thrilled? That's why I am.
“Can you imagine going to work on Sunday with Strahan, Howie Long, Gronkowski, Kurt Menefee? Talk football, and to 6 million viewers out there, the number one rated show every year for the last 32 years, and have fun and enjoy and never get upset, never get jealous.
“You're pulling for everybody. Yeah, you make a nice living, and you watch football all day.”
With his contract now extended, Bradshaw can look forward to at least two more years on FOX NFL Sunday, continuing a broadcasting career that remains an important part of his identity.
