The third straight home game for the No. 19 Texas Longhorns will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC or ESPN as Steve Sarkisian’s team hosts the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on October 31.
Before Mississippi State arrives on the Forty Acres for the second time as an SEC opponent, Sarkisian hopes to end his team’s losing streak with a matchup against No. 7 Ole Miss on Saturday. Texas is currently 4-2 after back-to-back losses to unranked opponents by matching 27-24 scores. The Longhorns opened as 3.5-point favorites over the Rebels on Sunday, according to FanDuel.
Like Texas, Mississippi State got off to a 4-0 start, rising to No. 16 in the AP Top 25, before dropping consecutive games. For head coach Jeff Lebby, those losses happened in blowout fashion — 56-23 to then-No. 7 Alabama and 31-0 to then-No. 22 LSU.
Mississippi State hosts Oklahoma in Starkville this weekend.
