The open house will showcase academic opportunities, student support and services, guided campus tours and interactive activities along with opportunities to explore new and improved spaces around CBU.
Guests are also invited to discover more about life at Cape Breton University including the school’s library, Boardmore Theatre, Beaton Institute and Art Gallery, and the Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre to learn about campus wellness resources.
CBU athletics and recreation will also host activities in the Sullivan Fieldhouse, along with opportunities to explore the fitness centre. Visitors will have the chance to enter prize draws, enjoy live entertainment, have lunch at Harriss Hall and take tailored faculty tours of campus labs and research spaces.
“Cape Breton University’s open house is always a wonderful opportunity to open our doors and share the energy, ambition and spirit of our campus with the Cape Breton community,” CBU president David Dingwall said in a press release. “Whether you are a prospective student taking the first step in your educational journey, an alum returning to campus or a neighbour curious to see our latest developments, we look forward to welcoming you.”
Future students residing in Canada who pre-register now will receive a free application voucher and a chance to win a $5,000 tuition waiver or MacBook Air once they check-in on campus for the open house.
“Open house is one of the best ways to experience CBU for yourself,” said Matthew Brown, manager of Canadian recruitment at CBU, in the release. “There is so much happening across campus, and this is an opportunity to explore our programs, meet our community and get a feel for what student life is really like. Whether you already have CBU on your list or are just starting to explore your options, we are excited to welcome you and help you discover what is possible here.”
Pre-registration is open until Saturday, Oct. 24, for prospective students residing in Canada. For more information and to pre-register, visit cbu.ca/open-house.
