Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is in a league of his own through the first five weeks of the NFL season.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has had an incredible start to the 2026 season. In fact, it has been so good that he stands alone as the only player in the league to reach a rare NFL feat thus far.
According to NFL analyst Field Yates, Warren is the only player in the NFL that leads his team in rushing and receiving yards this season.

That shouldn’t come as a complete surprise to Steelers fans, who have watch the team’s last few games.
Warren has looked nearly unstoppable during the stretch, recording 176, 126 and 188-yard performances the past three weeks.
During Pittsburgh’s latest 34-22 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5, Warren became the first player in Steelers history with a 50+ yard receiving and rushing touchdown in the same game.
He also became the first NFL player to have an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard rushing touchdown in the same game since Herschel Walker did it for the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, 1986.
However, Warren’s feat shouldn’t go unnoticed, and it hasn’t. He was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 5 performance against the Colts, during which he led the team with 101 rushing yards and 87 receiving yards.
The Steelers seem like they are going to continue leaning on Warren’s hot hand, too.
“Jaylen [Warren] is our featured player right now. Let’s be sure we all recognize that. He’s hot,” Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said. “He’s playing great football for us. So it’s important for us as an offense, coaches and players alike, to continue to put him in position to make plays. So that won’t change.”
An undrafted free agent in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State, Warren has rushed for 3,042 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career.
