The San Francisco 49ers are showing up on trade boards ahead of the NFL's Nov. 10 deadline.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox listed San Francisco as a logical suitor for three players on his Week 6 trade block big board: Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack, Eagles guard Landon Dickerson and Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
The reasons are obvious: The 49ers need defensive line support, could always use offensive line help and are depleted at receiver. The biggest hurdle here is what it could conceivably cost to acquire any of these players.
Mack has three sacks, five tackles for loss and 10 quarterback pressures for an 0-5 Chargers team. The 35-year-old is on a one-year deal, and Knox projects a conditional 2027 fourth-round pick as the price. The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones reported at least two executives value Mack at a fifth-rounder.
Dickerson is practicing after missing the past four weeks with a knee injury, and the Eagles may want to move on from the veteran as they did with Cam Jurgens recently. The 28-year-old three-time Pro Bowler is under contract through 2028, and Knox projects a conditional 2027 second-round pick would be the right price for Dickerson.
Thomas, 24, is perhaps the most intriguing name here, even if the Jaguars haven't indicated they want to move on from their former first-round pick. He finished with 1,282 yards as a rookie in 2024 but has just nine catches for 105 yards this season. Knox projects as a 2027 second- and sixth-round pick could be a price to change the Jaguars' mind, though. Thomas would give San Francisco a young option for a receiver room that has dealt with injuries this season, as well as a fresh start on a new team.
The 49ers have the cap space and draft capital to make any of these moves. And at 5-0, it would behoove general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan to at least explore all options with less than a month before the trade deadline passes.
