The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced on Sunday that it has made it easier for devotees to visit Ram Lalla at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Under the new arrangements, devotees will be able to book Sugam Darshan passes up to 90 days before their planned visit, compared with the earlier limit of 15 days.
The Trust has also increased the number of online passes available each day from 975 to 2,000, with scope for further increases depending on demand.
The changes are intended to help more devotees plan their visits in advance and reduce dependence on intermediaries.
According to the Trust’s announcement, the measures were approved by General Secretary Swami Govinddev Giri Ji Maharaj following discussions with the Trust’s chief executive officer, Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (Retd.), and its IT team.
Moreover, the CEO has been directed to oversee implementation.
Ram temple darshan passes to be released in seven stages
Under the revised system, Sugam Darshan passes will be released at seven stages before the scheduled visit: 90, 62, 30, 14, seven, three and one day in advance.
An additional eighth stage will provide same-day Tatkal passes for devotees who wish to visit at short notice.
Staggering the registration is meant to ensure that devotees have more chances to get a pass rather than forcing everyone to register at one specified time.
The extended registration period will definitely be very helpful for devotees coming from other cities and needing to make all the necessary travel arrangements.
Online bookings to undergo verification
Meanwhile, the Trust is developing a verification-based booking system to discourage automated bookings and prevent misuse of the online facility.
Under the proposed process, advance bookings will not be confirmed immediately. After technical verification, applicants will generally be informed of the decision within 24 to 48 hours. Submitting an application does not guarantee that a pass will be issued.
However, the waiting period will not apply to same-day Tatkal passes, which will be confirmed instantly, according to the announcement.
The Trust said the revised process is intended to identify suspicious booking activity and give genuine devotees a fairer chance of obtaining passes.
Sugam Darshan passes remain free
The Trust has clarified that Sugam Darshan passes are completely free. Devotees should not pay anyone to obtain a pass or seek recommendations through intermediaries.
To report anyone demanding or collecting money for a pass, devotees can contact the Trust through the following channels:
- Helpline: 80095 22111
- Email: report@srjbtk.org
The Trust said the dedicated helpline and email reporting facility are expected to become operational within one week of the announcement. Complaints will be examined and appropriate action taken.
Devotees have been advised to book passes only through the Trust’s authorised website: https://online.srjbtkshetra.org
More security measures planned for bookings
The Trust said it has begun strengthening the online booking system with updated security measures to prevent unauthorised bookings, technical misuse and other irregularities.
While the increase in the number of online passes has taken effect immediately, the expanded booking stages, verification-based confirmations and other technical improvements will be introduced in phases after software changes and testing are completed.
According to the Trust, there would be a continued assessment of demand, bookings, and arrangements to see if passes can be made available in higher numbers.
The goal is to make darshan easier and more transparent for devotees so that they may visit Shri Ram Lalla without any problems.
