A mix of cloudy and sunny spells expected on Thursday, with just an outside chance of a drop of rain. Generally settled with not much breeze for much of the island. Friday is looking similar, with highs remaining above average, as weather stations are predicting they will be on Saturday, or at least for a time on Saturday.
As mentioned in yesterday's report, rain and high winds are expected. The met agency has now said this could be because of a DANA cut-off low, the system that is commonly referred to as 'gota fría' (cold drop) and a phenomenon that is typical of the autumn in the western Med. If it does affect Mallorca, and at present it looks as if it will, Saturday may well herald what's to come, as weather stations are indicating rain. Sunday and Monday are when temperatures are forecast to fall; the outlook for both days is pretty rotten at the moment. No alerts have been issued yet; it's too early.
But Aemet has posted an advisory for intense rainfall in the Balearics with a change to the weather occurring during Saturday with the arrival of heavy showers.
