Naples (Fla.) Comprehensive Health has partnered with Publix Pharmacy to provide eligible patients with newly prescribed medications before they leave the hospital.
The Meds-to-Beds service began Oct. 19 at Naples-based NCH Baker Hospital and is scheduled to launch Nov. 2 at Naples-based NCH North Hospital, according to an Oct. 19 news release.
Publix Pharmacy representatives will coordinate with NCH physicians, nurses and care coordination teams to fill eligible discharge prescriptions and deliver medications directly to patients at the bedside. The pharmacy will also work to address medication availability, insurance coverage and affordability concerns before delivery.
A pharmacist will be available to answer medication-related questions and provide counseling. The service is optional and carries no additional delivery fee. Patients who participate are not required to use Publix Pharmacy for future prescriptions and may continue using their preferred pharmacy after discharge.
