Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A ministerial meeting in the C5+1 format, attended by the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, was held in Samarkand.
The sides discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting long-term investment, and developing transport, energy and digital infrastructure, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said.
According to the foreign minister, particular attention was given to cooperation in critical minerals.
Developing this area is expected to help create new industrial capacity, jobs and technological opportunities across the region.
Saidov also proposed establishing regular engagement between the C5+1 and B5+1 formats to involve business representatives more actively in identifying priority projects and supporting their implementation.
The minister expressed confidence that the talks in Samarkand would help translate political agreements into concrete investments and joint initiatives.
Uzbekistan intends to continue practical cooperation in these areas during its term as co-chair of the C5+1 Secretariat.
