The Tennessee Titans suddenly released veteran defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday, citing an unexplained incident that occurred at team facilities last week.
The Titans released this vague statement after Elliott's release:
“On Thursday, October 15th, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.”
On Wednesday, multiple reporters provided new details regarding the nature of the incident.
After getting into an altercation with offensive tackle JC Latham during practice last Thursday, Elliott reportedly stormed off the field and went to his car to retrieve a firearm. Veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers reportedly calmed Elliott down and no one was injured.

The sequence was captured on security cameras at Titans team facilities.
"This was so crazy," a source told NFL insider Aaron Wilson. "Jordan has been having a lot of problems away from the building and obviously he brought it to work with him. There was no reason for him to go off like that. Everyone thought that was wild. To overreact like that is absolutely crazy. We're just glad that no one got hurt and it's over."
The Titans signed Elliott on a two-year, $8 million contract this past offseason.
