Paris Croissant, the operator of bakery chain Paris Baguette, said on the 16th that it carried out a charity campaign called "Give and Take" to support children who go without meals, marking the company's 40th anniversary.
The campaign invites employees to donate voluntarily to provide food for children from vulnerable groups. Paris Croissant has run the program every year since 2019. In May this year, 718 employees raised 8.43 million won for children from low-income households.
This time, about 760 employees, including Paris Croissant Chief Executive Kang Shin-bong, took part and raised a total of 9.28 million won. The company said it encouraged participation by offering a "Hello K-Paba Jeju Buckwheat Castella" cake for every 10,000 won donated.
The money went toward 850 snack packages called "Happy Box," filled with Paris Baguette products and other items. Employees packed the boxes themselves, and the packages will be delivered to children in need through World Vision. "It carries even greater meaning that our employees can mark the company's 40th anniversary this year by giving together," a Paris Croissant official said. "We will continue sharing activities that involve all our members and spread a positive influence in local communities."
