Music lovers, creatives and Kampala’s nightlife crowd gathered at Somewhere Else in Lugogo on Friday for the third edition of Pass the Aux, an event powered by Guinness Smooth that combined music, art and self-expression.
The event brought together emerging DJs and guests in an interactive setting where attendees could enjoy different music genres, participate in creative activities and take turns at the decks.
The evening opened with Jarla Vibes, whose set featured R&B, Afrobeats and reggae. Other performers included Big E alongside Caleb, Melvyn alongside Lukas and Bertha, and the closing duo of Trizzy and Saint Trevor.
Each act brought a different sound to the event, keeping the crowd entertained throughout the night.
Away from the decks, guests took part in activities including body art, interactive art, board games, UNO and pool. Fashion also featured as a form of personal expression, while opportunities for guests to play their preferred music added to the event’s interactive nature.
The third edition of Pass the Aux reflects Guinness Smooth’s Make It Yours campaign, which celebrates creatives who develop their individual styles, challenge conventions and find new ways to express themselves.
Denise Paula Nazzinda, Guinness Uganda Brand Manager, said the brand’s involvement in the event was intended to provide a platform for emerging talent and creative communities.
“Make It Yours is about celebrating people who are confident enough to put their own spin on what they do. With Pass the Aux, we are creating a space where music, art, fashion and individual expression come together, giving creatives the freedom to experiment, collaborate and share their talents with a wider audience,” she said.
Now in its third edition, Pass the Aux continues to bring together musicians, artists and other creatives through an experience that allows participants to engage with music beyond listening to performances.
The event also gave emerging DJs an opportunity to showcase their skills to an audience while encouraging guests to explore different sounds and creative activities.
With music, art and audience participation at the centre of the evening, the event offered a platform for creative expression under Guinness Smooth’s Make It Yours campaign.
