Seoul’s Defense Ministry has denied a news report claiming that the U.S. has limited most intelligence sharing related to North Korea, allegedly in response to a senior official publicly revealing operations at a third DPRK uranium enrichment facility.
“There are no restrictions on intelligence sharing between South Korea and the U.S. [needed] to maintain a robust military readiness posture against North Korea,” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday, while acknowledging some restrictions.
“Some of the information subject to sharing restrictions is being adequately supplemented by our military’s significantly enhanced independent intelligence capabilities.”
