Real Madrid produced an impressive attacking display to defeat Sevilla 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, October 18, boosting their confidence ahead of next weekend’s El Clásico against Barcelona.
Arda Güler, Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomande were on target for the hosts, with Mbappé scoring twice, while Manu Bueno grabbed Sevilla’s only goal in the La Liga encounter. The victory was built on Madrid’s attacking efficiency, with Güler opening the scoring before Mbappé extended the advantage.
Güler broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a powerful left-footed effort from outside the penalty area, giving Madrid the lead after a competitive opening spell.
Seven minutes later, Mbappé doubled the advantage with an impressive individual effort, putting the hosts in a commanding position before half-time.

Sevilla found a response in the 80th minute when Manu Bueno reduced the deficit, briefly offering the visitors a consolation after Madrid had established a three-goal cushion.
However, Diomande restored Madrid’s three-goal lead just two minutes later, finding the net with a powerful strike to seal the 4-1 victory and cap an impressive individual performance.
Diomande also played an important role in Madrid’s attacking moves, contributing to the build-up to Güler’s opener and the sequence that led to Mbappé’s penalty.
The result provides Madrid with a boost ahead of their next La Liga fixture against arch-rivals Barcelona on October 25. Barcelona head into the encounter after a 5-2 victory over Real Betis, setting up a high-profile meeting between the Spanish heavyweights.
Sevilla, meanwhile, will look to recover when they host Osasuna on October 26.
