IN the last few weeks, Saracens have been attacked in certain parts of the rugby press for their attendances, their artificial pitch supposedly not being good enough, the club’s ownership and so-called rumours of disruption behind the scenes ... and then not forgetting Brendan Venter and his lack of media interviews. It’s almost as if we are back in 2019 after the salary cap scandal.
No club is beyond scrutiny or criticism but it’s clear that some journalists and commentators have dislike for Saracens and revel in kicking the club whenever they get the chance.
