During a Yankees season that is remembered for losses, the finds become overlooked.
Ryan Weathers certainly qualifies.
In his first season in The Bronx, Weathers increasingly impressed as the season wore on until suffering an elbow injury in late August that ended his regular season early and rendered him a reliever for two October games.
Too often ineffective in his formative years in San Diego (5.73 ERA in parts of three seasons) and too often injured in Miami (combining for 24 starts over his final two years there), Weathers stepped into a bigger market for 2026 and authored his best season, finishing with a 3.60 ERA in a career-best 25 starts.
