According to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim said in a statement released that day that "our tactical hunting units are taking up new positions, and within October the psychological warfare loudspeakers targeting South Korea will enter into operation along the entire border line."
Kim claimed that "armed thugs again today harassed us at no fewer than two locations with loudspeaker warning provocation broadcasts and warning shots," calling the North's response "the most legitimate measure and an appropriate countermeasure."
She added, "Suppose we were to fire warning shots back at the enemy in a case like today's. The situation at the border would deteriorate unimaginably." She said, "We are exercising a high degree of self-restraint while thoroughly preparing for any contingency."
