Teams of experts from allied countries are expected to arrive in Bulgaria on Wednesday with advanced equipment to help identify the drones that struck the cargo ship Chelsea 3 in the Black Sea, Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced.
Military teams are already conducting chemical analyses of drone debris recovered from the vessel to determine the type of explosive used. The ship has been towed to the port of Burgas.
Radev also said a US Poseidon aircraft was already patrolling the Black Sea, conducting reconnaissance and providing early warning of potential threats, BNR's Horizont programme reported.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov told reporters that Bulgaria's armed forces were currently using two unmanned systems to monitor the country's Black Sea waters. One is operated by the Joint Special Operations Command and the other by the Land Forces.
A third system, with significantly more advanced technical capabilities, is expected to join them by the end of the week.
