Week 9 of the Texas high school football season has finally arrived.
The ninth week of the season will have lots of intriguing matchups, as most Big Country area teams continue district play with marquee intra-district matchups while a handful of six-man squads wrap up non-district play.
Along with the matchups, teams are adjusting to the referee shortage across Texas by moving their games to different times and locations.
Week 9 represents the first week of the season where every Big Country area team will be squaring off against district competition.
Additionally, Week 9 signals the halfway mark in district play for many teams in the Big Country’s largest Class 5A and Class 2A districts.
