Sex sells, but Amanda Seyfried isn’t buying.
The actress opened up about turning down a TV series due to all the intimate scenes involving the character.
“I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex,” she said at a panel hosted by Alec Baldwin at the Hamptons International Film Festival earlier this month, per People.
“Doesn’t matter [who it’s with] … I don’t wanna do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now,” she explained.
Seyfriend did not reveal the role she refused.
Weird and weirder
The Mamma Mia! actress noted to Baldwin, “Our jobs are weird. And as I get older it gets weirder. We have to be romantic with people that we’re not romantic with.”
Seyfried, 40, admitted: “Sometimes it’s great. Sometimes it’s really uncomfortable. But I can’t believe back in the day I was just like, ‘We gotta make out. Great! This is awesome. I know how to make out.”
The Oscar nominee added: “And it used to be so fun. It was a non-thing. It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me.’”
Now, however, Seyfried said she’s in a different stage of her life.
“Maybe if [the project] came along again [at a later point], maybe I’d be in a different space,” the Dropout star acknowledged. “But I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger.”

The kids are alright
Seyfried was married for nine years to actor Thomas Sadoski before the two confirmed their split last month.
“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit,” they said in a joint statement to People. “We’ve got each other forever — and it’s GOOD.”
The exes share two children, daughter Nina, 9, and six-year-old son Thomas Jr.
“I have kids now who are paying attention to what I do,” Seyfried told Baldwin.
The Mank actress’ last movie was The Housemaid, which she starred alongside Sydney Sweeney in 2025.
Seyfried currently stars in The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, which premiered at the Hamptons fest two weeks after its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Seyfried stars as a teacher in an abusive relationship who takes a job at a maximum-security prison, where she falls for a charismatic inmate, played by Scoot McNairy.
