Guwahati: The Terminal, a new dining facility near Guwahati Railway Station, the first 24x7 food court, was inaugurated on Friday by Northeast Frontier Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava. The food court is scheduled to begin public operations on November 1, with services available round the clock.
Located near Guwahati Railway Station, opposite the 240 Transit Camp, The Terminal brings together 42 food and retail outlets under one roof, offering a range of cuisines and dining options throughout the day.
The food court will serve Assamese and other Northeast Indian cuisines, North Indian dishes, Chinese and continental food, along with café and dessert options. It will also house popular Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands, including KFC, Domino’s, Subway, Costa Coffee, Baskin Robbins, Wow! Momo and Belgian Waffles.
Public Opening on November 1
Following its inauguration, The Terminal will begin operations for the public on Sunday, November 1, and remain open round the clock, seven days a week.
The facility aims to provide a range of dining choices under one roof for residents, railway passengers and visitors. Its location near Guwahati Railway Station is expected to make it accessible to people seeking food at different hours of the day.
With its round-the-clock operations and mix of food outlets, The Terminal is set to add another dining option to Guwahati’s food scene.
The Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony began at 4 pm with a traditional Assamese welcome for chief guest Chetan Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, who was felicitated with a gamosa. He later cut the ribbon to formally inaugurate The Terminal in the presence of railway officials, media representatives, outlet partners and other guests.
Following the ceremony, Srivastava toured the food court, visited the outlets and interacted with staff and partners. The event concluded with a media interaction and high tea.
