The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 6-2 to the Milwaukee Brewers, falling to 0-3 in the NLCS and on the verge of elimination.
The Dodgers led 2-1 after the bottom of the sixth inning. However, the wheels came off soon after that.
Jake Bauers hit a two-run homer to give the Brewers the lead in the top of the seventh inning. Then Garrett Mitchell hit a solo home run to extend the lead to 4-2.
After that, the Dodgers offense failed to generate any threat, a pattern that defined the series.
Blake Snell’s blowup
Blake Snell pitched six sensational innings, allowing just two hits and a walk and striking out nine.
He looked unhittable after giving up a leadoff home run to Jackson Churio, but the seventh inning turned into a total disaster.
Snell allowed a walk to Andrew Vaughn, lacking much command, while Jack Bauers followed with a home run on the 11th pitch of a lengthy at-bat.
Then, Garrett Mitchell got ahold of a changeup from Snell, becoming the final hitter that Snell faced.
The bullpen was mostly fine after Snell, but Roki Sasaki allowed two baserunners in the top of the 8th inning, leading to Justin Wrobleski inheriting two runners and giving up a run on a wild pitch.
The offense fails to produce
As in the last few months of the season, the Dodgers failed to produce offense. The Dodgers had five hits and four walks.
Ohtani was the best offensive player, despite multiple injuries. He went 1-for-2, with a walk and a hit-by-pitch.
Will Smith hit a double in the sixth inning, scoring two runs and putting runners on second and third with one out.

However, Dave Roberts made a few critical errors after that. Josue De Paula pinch-hit for Miguel Rojas, and Kike Hernandez pinch-hit after the Brewers made a pitching change.
De Paula was burned and unable to enter the game, while Kike Hernandez struck out swinging, and Tommy Edman then struck out swinging.
With no more pinch-hitting options, the Dodgers offense got no boost from substitutions.
Now, the Dodgers face a major uphill climb, needing to win four straight games.
