Ignas, who spent roughly two years in Germany before relocating to the USA for a further three, shared the news in a candid post on X that quickly resonated with readers across the continent.
Five Years of Grinding Abroad
Rather than celebrating a milestone, Ignas from Tanzania described his departure as a deliberate pause.

He had accumulated what many would consider life-changing achievements during his time abroad, including millions of dollars in scholarships and access to high-paying career opportunities that, as he put it:
"Young me from a remote village in East Africa could only daydream about."
Yet despite those gains, he found himself questioning what it all meant.
"For years I have chased excellence and prestige," he wrote, listing a relentless cycle of internships, fellowships and job offers that kept him moving but perhaps not growing in the way he needed.
He was careful to separate his motivations, acknowledging that personal ambition played a role but insisting that a deeper drive pushed him harder: the desire to lift others from what he called "so-called 3rd world countries."
Back Home and Embracing Uncertainty
Ignas landed back in Tanzania last week and admitted that while much had stayed familiar, enough had changed to make the homecoming feel strange.
"I feel very uncertain," he wrote, though he did not frame that as a defeat. Instead, he described uncertainty as something he thrives in, comparing it to energy in physics, a force that cannot be destroyed, only transformed.
He was quick to clarify that his return was not a crisis of identity. Unlike what he jokingly called a "Beverly Hills" way of thinking, he is not searching for himself. He knows who he is. What he wants is time to reconsider what success genuinely looks like for him.
During his time away, Ignas plans to volunteer with Teksafari and write on his personal platform, and he has invited anyone in Tanzania to connect with him in person, describing himself as "very available."
His post closed on a forward-looking note: "The future remains exciting."
Woman closes her company to move to Germany
In other news, TUKO also highlighted facts about Ruby Edet, a Nigerian woman who closed her real estate marketing company after 15 years to study nursing in Germany at 36.
Despite holding a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees and extensive industry experience, she chose to begin a new career. Her message to others considering a fresh start: “I’m not starting from zero. I’m starting from experience.”
