The Vancouver Canucks are continuing to struggle out of the gate, as they have now lost each of their last four games.
Now, as the Canucks continue to lose, they are being linked to an intriguing trade candidate from the Calgary Flames.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks are among the NHL teams that have Flames forward Connor Zary on their radar.

...
"The Flames only have one retention spot available, and they don't want to retain money, so it's probably going to take something creative, but I do think Vancouver is one of the teams that has looked at Zary," Friedman said. "I think there's a few more, obviously, but I've heard the Canucks are one of the teams that are considering it, and it makes sense."
With the Canucks being in a rebuild, Zary is exactly the kind of young forward they should be trying to add to their roster. The former first-round pick would have the potential to be a strong addition to their roster if he broke out.
While Zary is coming off a down season, he has had some solid seasons in the past. This included him recording 14 goals and 34 points in 63 games as a rookie for the Flames in 2023-24. With this, he could be an intriguing player for the Canucks to add to their top nine.
It will be interesting to see if the Canucks end up striking a deal with the Flames for Zary. The fit looks great on paper.
