The 26th and final regular-season event on the PGA Tour Champions 2026 schedule is in the books. Now it's time for the postseason.
The Charles Schwab Cup playoffs consist of three tournaments over the next four weeks. There will be a week off before the grand finale at Phoenix Country Club, Nov. 12-15, for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
The postseason starts with 72 golfers, then gets whittled to 54 for the Week 2 playoff event. The final will have 36 players, and a real prize for many will be that making the Charles Schwab Cup Championship guarantees a 2027 tour card for those 36.
Who's leading the Charles Schwab Cup points race?
Heading into the playoffs, there's two golfers clearly ahead of the rest: Stewart Cink (1), who has five wins in 2026, and Champions rookie Zach Johnson (2) who leads the circuit with six wins. Steven Alker (3) has four wins but is about $1 million or so back in the race. Padraig Harrington (4) and Retief Goosen (5) round out the top five.
Is Michael Block going to qualify for the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs?
Yes, the Malbon-sponsored club pro, playing on sponsor invitations all year, has done enough to make the postseason. He'll start in the 42nd spot, which should get him into the first two tournaments. Again, he'll need to climb into the top 36 to make the final but also to lock up a 2027 tour card.
