Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said four years is not enough for President Bola Tinubu’s reforms to work and has urged Nigerians to support his re-election in 2027.
Adeleke spoke on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” he said, adding, “That is why I’m here to throw my weight.”
Adeleke, widely known as “the dancing governor”, said he could already “feel the victory coming in 2027″.
“Nobody can stop this movement,” he told the gathering. “We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” said Adeleke.
He said Nigerians wanted action and not too much talking.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine. Let us rise and make sure our president comes back for the second time,” he added.
The governor also asked Nigerians to keep praying for their leaders.
He stated, “Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there.”
Adeleke was named the coordinator of Tinubu’s campaign in Osun in a revised campaign council list released on Tuesday, a day before the inauguration.
The list also included the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT, and the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
At the event, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the hall as a “rainbow coalition” of different political parties working together.
Adeleke governs Osun State under the Accord Party.
The campaign council was constituted on August 22 with Tinubu as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman, former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.
The APC will flag off the campaign in Kaduna on October 24.
The presidential election is scheduled for January 16, 2027, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
