William, Prince of Wales, once had no desire to be king.
The 44-year-old royal, whose dad, King Charles, 77, is the current monarch, is next in line to ascend the throne, but as a child, he had his sights set on two other jobs.
During Friday night's (23.10.26's) episode of BBC's The Graham Norton Show, William revealed: "I did want to be a policeman when I was younger, I thought I could make a good one."
Surprisingly, the Prince of Wales once "went through a phase of wanting to be a DJ", but after trying his hand at mixing tracks, he admitted he "wasn’t very good" at it.
Elsewhere, William revealed he is a "big fan" of director Sir Christopher Nolan, 56, whose adaptation of the ancient Greek epic The Odyssey made box office history, grossing $1.68 billion worldwide to become the most successful film he and Universal Pictures have produced.
Asked how he switches off, William shared: "It is music and film. I love getting immersed in deep-thinking films. I like action films too, but I like something a bit different.
"I’m a big fan of everything Christopher Nolan does. His films are fantastic - The Dark Knight series is psychologically dark and deep, and I absolutely love that.
"He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining."
The royal, his daughter Princess Charlotte, 11, and son Prince Louis, eight, whom he has with his 44-year-old wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, are huge devotees of BBC's The Celebrity Traitors.
The game show sees some stars secretly 'murder' other players, while the latter, known as the Faithfuls, try to identify and banish them from the programme.
William, also dad to Prince George, 13, said: "I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly."
On October 6, he met with 62-year-old The Celebrity Traitors contestant, actor Ross Kemp, in Ilminster, Somerset, South West England, where they launched Ready Together, an initiative to help communities prepare for emergencies, such as wildfires and flooding.
Referring to that occasion, the Prince of Wales added: "I saw Ross Kemp the day after the first episode, and I couldn’t help but try - in the most appropriate way - to touch him to see what reaction I got from him.
"Turns out he was really jumpy!"
William joined actress' Cate Blanchett, 57, and Hannah Waddingham, 52, and conservationist Robert Irwin, 22, on the sofa to talk about next month's Earthshot Prize, which all the guests are involved with.
The annual global environment award, which is being held in Mumbai, India, was founded by His Royal Highness in 2020, and it recognises and funds solutions to repair and protect the planet.
William said: "For many years I was hearing stories about environment issues, and one thing that struck me was the negativity and doom which got me down.
"I thought we could do something more powerful and more optimistic, and the idea of an awards’ ceremony came about, and we could talk about urgency and optimism together.
"It’s all about getting excited."
He continued: "There are some amazing people out there doing things to protect the world. We could really highlight what is being done and scale them to the next level to have more impact around the world."
Completing the episode's line-up is 29-year-old singer Jorja Smith, who performs Dancing before having a little chat with 63-year-old Graham.
The Graham Norton Show airs on Friday at 10.40pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
