Man, 62, arrested following indecent act near Strathclyde Park playing fields

A man has been arrested following an indecent act within a wooded area of Strathclyde Park.

Around 8pm on Tuesday, October 6, a man was seen carrying out an indecent act in a wooded area near the playing fields near the Raith Interchange entrance to the park.

A 62-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and enquiries remain ongoing.

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward, in particular, two men who were walking in the park and a group of joggers, possibly a running club, who were in the area around this time.

Inspector Jen Butler said: “Incidents of this nature can understandably cause concern for the local community and officers will be in the area carrying out enquiries and to provide reassurance.

“Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could assist our investigation. Please think back – did you see anyone acting strangely around this time? If so, please get in touch.

“We are also asking anyone driving in the area with dash-cams, to please check the footage for anything which may be relevant.

“Information can be passed to us by calling 101, quoting incident 3339 of Tuesday, October 6, or by approaching any of our officers out on patrol.”
