The Cyprus Tourism Enterprises Association (STEK) will hold its Annual Tourism Conference on Nov. 24, 2026, at The Landmark Nicosia, under the title “Tourism Beyond 2030: Competing in an Era of Constant Change.”
In recent months, STEK has highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and its potential benefits for tourism businesses, saying it provides new opportunities for better understanding visitor needs.
The group said geopolitical instability, competition from other Mediterranean destinations, the effects of climate change, workforce needs and rapid technological change are all creating new challenges. For an island destination like Cyprus, it said, the need for greater flexibility, faster adaptation and better coordination between government and the private sector is becoming increasingly important.
STEK said the response to these new conditions cannot simply be a matter of increasing tourist arrivals. “Cyprus’ strategy must focus on quality and higher value per visitor, extending the tourist season, and creating authentic and differentiated experiences that strengthen the destination’s competitiveness,” the group said.
