Drake Maye and the New England Patriots got off to a slow start in their 2026 NFL campaign, losing two of their first three games.
Maye, last year's MVP runner-up, struggled mightily through those first three games of the season. But over the last few weeks, he and the Patriots are back to producing at an elite level.
The Patriots have won each of their last three matchups, led by stellar play from Maye at the quarterback position.
Former New England quarterback Tom Brady is impressed by Maye's ability to turn things around.
“I think [his bounce back] shows a ton of mental toughness," Brady said. "He got off to a slow start. Look, he’s still a young quarterback. He’s only in Year 3. He’s got a great play caller in Josh McDaniels. They’re figuring out what they’re good at. That’s what the Patriots always do early in the season.”
After recording just one touchdown pass and six interceptions through his first three games of the year, Maye has combined for 10 passing touchdowns and just one interception over the Patriots' last three wins. In Week 6, he completed 18 of his 32 pass attempts for 235 yards and three scores through the air.

Maye and the Patriots will look to maintain their positive momentum in Thursday night's Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
