New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara became the sixth player in NFL history to record 5,000 rushing yards and 5,000 receiving yards for his career during Week 6’s matchup with the New York Giants.
Kamara joined the exclusive club in the third quarter. Catching a short pass behind the line of scrimmage on second-and-8 from the Giants’ 31-yard line, Kamara got the first down then cut left to elude safety Jevon Holland and ran another 22 yards for a touchdown.

Coming into the game, the running back needed 11 yards receiving to reach 5,000 for his career. He had already accumulated 7,336 rushing yards in 130 games during his 10 NFL seasons.
The previous members of the NFL’s 5,000/5,000 club include Hall of Famers Lenny Moore, Marcus Allen and Marshall Faulk, in addition to Tiki Barber and Christian McCaffrey.
Their career stats are as follows:
Lenny Moore: 5,174 rushing; 6,039 receiving (1957-67)
Marcus Allen: 12,243 rushing; 5,411 receiving (1982-97)
Marshall Faulk: 12,279 rushing; 6,875 receiving (1994-2005)
Tiki Barber: 10,449 rushing; 5,183 receiving (1997-2006)
Christian McCaffrey: 7,875 rushing; 5,527 receiving (2017-present)
Perhaps Faulk’s pedestal should be a bit higher among this dual-threat sextet with the most rushing and receiving yards.
