Ambassador de Maigret Meets with the Lithuanian Minister of the Interior

(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 23 OTT - The Italian Ambassador to Vilnius, Emanuele de Maigret, met today with the Lithuanian Minister of the Interior, Martynas Katelynas. During the meeting, which was also attended by the embassy’s Guardia di Finanza expert, Col. Giacomo Scilì Bellomo, and the Carabinieri security expert, Lt. Col. Stefano Saccocci, de Maigret and Katelynas noted a substantial convergence of views on the main issues falling under the jurisdiction of the Minister of the Interior, starting with matters related to combating illegal immigration. During the meeting, the main areas of bilateral cooperation were also reviewed, and the operational capabilities of the Guardia di Finanza, the Carabinieri, and other Italian police forces were presented within the framework of already intensive operational police cooperation, exchange visits, and the sharing of expertise in this sector.
