Twelve Sierra Leonean businesses are seeking a combined $141 million in investment to expand operations across the country’s agricultural value chain, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Henry Musa Kpaka has said.
In a statement published on LinkedIn on 11 October, Kpaka said the businesses would present their investment opportunities at the Sierra Leone Food and Agriculture Investment Forum, held in London on Monday, 12 October 2026.
The forum was organised by British International Investment in partnership with the British High Commission in Freetown, according to the event’s published programme.
Kpaka said the businesses operate across several sectors, including agricultural finance, agro-processing, aquaculture, cassava, cocoa, coffee, carbon markets, forestry, manufacturing, poultry and rice.
He said the companies had worked with Invest Salone and the Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator to prepare for engagement with potential investors.
According to Kpaka, the businesses are seeking investment and commercial partnerships to expand their operations, create jobs and strengthen agricultural value chains under the government’s Feed Salone initiative.
He added that the government would support private investment through policies, incentives and public investment in infrastructure and systems aimed at reducing business risks and operating costs.
