KATHMANDU, Oct 18: The Nepal Red Cross Society has continued providing relief to flood-affected families in Chumanuwri Rural Municipality of northern Gorkha during the festive season, as many remain in difficult circumstances after floods damaged settlements and disrupted access.
Nepal Red Cross Society Chairperson Dr Bishal Kumar Bhandari said the organisation was continuing its support for affected families despite the challenging situation.

Relief materials were airlifted by helicopter to families in Chumanuwri, which had been completely cut off following the Budhi Gandaki floods. The supplies included food items such as rice and lentils, as well as essential non-food items, including blankets, tarpaulins and cooking utensils, Bhandari said.
Although the area's difficult terrain and challenging conditions have made relief delivery difficult, the society has continued coordinating with flood-affected districts through its emergency operations to distribute supplies according to local needs.
