Police will maintain public peace and order throughout Serbia in the coming days, said caretaker Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, and called on “everyone to stop the politicization and various fabrications regarding the role of the police.”
Following a visit to the police station in Vlasotince, Dacic emphasized that the police “have always been a key factor in preserving public order, peace, and societal stability, and that will continue to be the case moving forward.”
“This is neither the first nor the last time that elections are being held in Serbia. The police know our duties, which are to preserve public peace and order, and we call on everyone to stop the politicization and fabrication regarding the role of the police. The force has always been a cornerstone of societal stability, and that will not change,” the Serbian Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) quoted Dacic as saying.
