He was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to Lance Corporals Mohammad Faiz Muhamad Saman, 40, and Muhammad Ekmal Sofwan Driman during an incident at KLIA Terminal 1 on Sept 28.
The charges were brought under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum jail term of one year, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.
Shuhaily arrived at the court complex dressed in a suit, where security was tight, with a large number of police personnel and Rela members deployed.
He appeared relaxed and stopped at the canteen for breakfast, even inviting members of the media to join him.
Also present at the court was Port Klang MCBA commander Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, who attended in a show of support.
Shuhaily had earlier said he was ready to undergo the legal process and would accept whatever decision the court made in relation to the case.
He also said he would leave it to the government to determine whether any action should be taken against him following the circulation of a viral video showing him reprimanding two individuals at KLIA Terminal 1.
