Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that it had destroyed two ballistic missile launchers in Yemen's northern province of Saada.
The announcement came a day after Saudi authorities said they had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward the Red Sea city of Yanbu.
Saudi Arabia also reported intercepting and destroying two cruise missiles over the Red Sea, in addition to downing three drones in the Kingdom's southern region and the Riyadh area.
The Kingdom has faced near-daily attacks in recent days carried out by the Houthi movement using missiles and drones. The most severe of these attacks targeted Riyadh Airport on Saturday, killing 13 people and injuring more than 300 others in what was described as the deadliest attack on Saudi Arabia in more than a decade.
Amid the wider conflict in the Middle East, a truce that had been in place in Yemen since 2022 between the Houthis and Yemeni government forces collapsed in July, leading to a renewed escalation in fighting. The Houthis subsequently made battlefield gains, taking control of parts of the western coastline and the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait area.
The developments coincided with an intensification of hostilities between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has stepped up its airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas across Yemen, while government forces last week announced the launch of a large-scale offensive aimed at recapturing territory held by the group.
