SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies men's basketball has one more exhibition game on the schedule before beginning the 2026-27 season in kind.
The Huskies will take on the Washington State Cougars at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
This will be Washington's second exhibition game of the preseason, with the other being a 109-91 loss against the Boise State Broncos on Oct. 16.
The Huskies could enter their exhibition finale against the Cougars not at full strength as two players are nursing injuries.
In Washington's exhibition loss against Boise State, fourth-year point guard Ryan Beasley didn't play and fifth-year forward Mady Traore was limited to just one minute of game action. Both players didn't participate in the team's practice that was open to the media Tuesday.
In a news conference Thursday, UW head coach Danny Sprinkle revealed that Beasley was dealing with a concussion and Traore was dealing with a knee issue that would require it to get periodically drained.
Beasley said after the team's practice Tuesday that he's hoping to be back for Sunday's exhibition against Washington State, whereas Traore's injury might be something consistent UW attends to throughout the season.
"(Traore's) knee just kind of swells up," Sprinkle said Thursday. " ... It's just kind of one of those (injuries where), who knows how often it'll kind of swell up. But, for the most part, he's been able to practice. We're going to have to load manage him and it might be two practices here, one off. And once he gets closer to games, just practice him two days prior to a game and then play him depending on how he recovers."
Traore missed all of last season due to surgery to repair a torn tendon in his foot after he transferred into the team as one of the top junior college (juco) recruits in the country.

In addition to Traore and Beasley's injuries, fourth-year shooting guard Wesley Yates III is working his way back after missing nearly the entire offseason due to blood clots.
Yates exited a team loss against Seattle University and missed five full games last season due to a broken wrist in his shooting hand and was unable to regain his typical form after his return. He played but didn't start in the team's exhibition game loss against the Broncos. He's the team leading returning scorer from last year.
"(Yates) was out for about four months with some blood clots," Sprinkle said. "He missed the entire summer and all of September, so he just got back about three weeks ago, which is another tough blow for him. But he's back now and we think we have the medication to keep his blood levels under control and all that. He's been really good since he got back."
